Millions of Iraqis have fled their homes because of armed conflict, including the Mosul Offensive of 2016-2017, which led to one of the most complex humanitarian interventions in the history of the region. The conflict in Syria has created one of the most severe and protracted humanitarian crises in the world today. Millions have been displaced, both within the country and outside—as refugees in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Türkiye.

UNFPA Syria is on the ground, working with partners to provide integrated reproductive health and gender-based violence services, including family planning supplies and counselling, gynaecology consultations, antenatal care, post-natal care, psychosocial support and comprehensive emergency obstetric care.
